Shinseikai: A New World in an Old City
Shinseikai, (translated to New World), is one of the most interesting places in Osaka. Shinsekai boasts a wide variety of different shops and restaurants that will satisfy all of your appetites. Shinseikai is in the heart of the city. Tsutenkaku Tower is at its center. The area was first developed in 1903 for the National Industrial Exposition.
An Icon of the Osaka skyline, Tsutenkaku Tower was first built in 1912, but was destroyed during WWII. Tsutenkaku was rebuilt in 1956 shortly after the war finished. It stands 103 meters tall and was modelled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Unique restaurants and big food!
It doesn’t matter if you want kushikatsu or some other Japanese delicacy the restaurants in Shinseikai offer a bit of everything! Sushi, sashimi, tako yaki, (fried octopus balls), are all on the menu here!
They give you the bait and there is a wide variety of fish to choose from. You can choose the preparation of the fish as well; grilled, fried, nabe, (hot pot), or fresh! Whatever you want you got!
