Arayayama Shrine: A Beautiful Place to Pray!
Located in Fujiyoshida, in the shadow of Mt. Fuji sits one of the most famous shrines in all of Japan. Arayayama shrine is one of the three main shrines to pray at for fortune and prosperity.
This beautiful shrine has been visited by many visitors since ancient times in order to pray for luck and prosperity. My wife and I made a special stop during our visit to Yamanashi at the end of April. It was very interesting and beautiful!
A closer look at the rocks used to build the path to the shrine shows signs of a Volcanic past.
There are several other shrines that are a part of the complex. One of the shrines is for marital bliss, at least that was what my wife told me!

The Shinto religion believes in the sanctity of nature, and Arayayama shrine is the perfect testament to that belief.
This beautiful shrine sits nearly at the foot of Mt. Fuji, which looms beautifully in the background!

It was a beautiful shrine and a great place to visit on our way to Shizuoka. Also, this shrine is not far from the famous theme park, Fujiikyu Highland!
