Osaka Nightlife: Ready, Get Set, Party!
If you love to party and have fun, look no further than the nightlife of Osaka! No matter the day of the week or time of the night, a good time can be found in almost every corner of Osaka. Nowhere is that more true than in the area of Namba and Shinsaibashi called ‘Minami’ by the locals.
One of the most interesting places to hang out on any night of the week is an area called ‘Amemura’ or American Village that runs from Namba through Shinsaibashi. In Amemura one of my favorite places to hang out is a bar called ‘Balabushka’. This bar is usually hopping with excitement and a wide-ranging age demographic.
There is something for everyone in this bar! Music, pool tables, and dart boards! Balabushka is also a big place so you will have plenty of room to dance, hang out, play darts, or play billiards.
If you’re in the mood for somewhere smaller and more intimate, then let me introduce you to LA Rock-A bar in Shinsaibashi. LA Rock-A bar is located downstairs leading from one of the main streets in Shinsaibashi about 2 blocks south of Sakaesuji. It is a small bar that features free Karaoke for paying customers!
This is a fun bar where customers can sing Karaoke for free when they order a drink. The staff are all friendly and ready to party along with the customers in the bar!
This bar is foreigner-friendly, but don’t count on a lot of English. My friends and I had no problem ordering drinks and getting great service, but all of us speak Japanese to varying degrees so it was easy for us. I didn’t see any non-Japanese speaking foreigners in the bar so I wouldn’t know how well they would get along, however I had a blast! There were even some customers who requested that my friends and I sing an English song for them! Don’t let your lack of Japanese stop you from having a great time though! My friends and I had a blast in the small but eclectic bar and I’m sure that you will too!
