Tennoji Park: A Great Place to Hang Out!
In a city as big and vast as Osaka it can sometimes be a struggle to find any greenery. While I love living in the big city, sometimes we all need to unwind and reconnect with Nature! A great place to do that in the heart of the city is Tennoji Park. In the last 10 years or so, Osaka city has made a huge effort to update and rejuvenate its natural parks. Until about 10 years ago, Tennoji Park used to cost money, (about Β₯300 or $1.98US) to enter and was mostly concrete. However, now it is filled with a wide open space for picnics, sports, or just hanging out with friends.
At night it gets all lit up and makes for a wonderful walk in the evening!
Restaurants a Plenty!
Also, new to the park are its many restaurants. A walk through the park can sometimes make you hungry. In Tennoji Park that’s not a problem! There are several options for restaurants throughout the park.
There’s even a Tully’s Coffee Shop, in case you need a jolt of caffeine to finish your nature walk!
The far end of the park connects directly with Tennoji Zoo, which is also a wonderful place to visit, especially if you have small children.
Tennoji Park also hosts several events throughout the year! From October Fest to ice skating, Tennoji Park has a little bit of everything!
October Fest! Almost like being in Germany for the real thing!
Finally, if you just want to do your own thing at a fraction of the cost of going to a restaurant, then you can find food and drinks at the local convenience store!
Cheers! Here’s to hoping that you have an amazing trip to Osaka sometime soon!
